ADVOCATING FOR A WILDER FUTURE
"Creating spaces where wildlife thrives and forging deep connections between nature and people"
Forgotten Wild is a Florida-based nonprofit dedicated to protecting the state’s most overlooked and underappreciated species — from bats and squirrels to reptiles and native plants. We believe that every creature has a role in our ecosystems, no matter how small or misunderstood.
We focus on rewilding efforts, education, and community partnerships to create habitats where native wildlife can thrive and flourish. Through storytelling, science, and hands-on action, we’re reconnecting people with the land and with the creatures that call it home.
why it matters?
Every species matters. Every habitat counts.
Across Florida and entire world, wildlife is disappearing — not just the charismatic megafauna, but the everyday animals that hold ecosystems together. When we lose these creatures, we lose balance. We lose biodiversity and we lose an essential part of what makes Florida wild.
At Forgotten Wild, we’re here to change that. We focus on:
-
🌱 Native species restoration
-
🦇 Urban habitat creation
-
🧠 Environmental education
-
🧑🤝🧑 Community-driven conservation
We believe in preserving not just the famous, but the forgotten.
